Dear Konti 2023/2024 Was a huge adjustment & transition for our tiny little family. We moved from the beautiful Garden Route (Western Cape) back to Gauteng and in doing so, we had to find a new school for my son… we wanted to stick with a Cambridge education, but the prices charged by local private schools are extreme, even on the low end of the costing spectrum. To be brutally honest, there were also a multitude of things we found deeply concerning and infuriating with regards to how regular schools operate (or don’t operate). A friend of ours recommended British International Distance College, as both his children are alumni of your facility and he is very pleased with the level of education his children received. We knew it would be a massive adjustment, as the entire model goes against how us adults were schooled. It is utterly different – better – but VERY different and a big new thing to figure out / get used to, especially for a parent/grandparent who have very set ideas on how school works. We had NO IDEA how it worked, and honestly we were quite nervous. BUT – part of the BIDC package is being blessed with one’s own Student Advisor! In our case it is the wonderful, Mr. Konti Chinga 😊 Now look… if there is one thing that can get a Mother and retired Teacher Grandmother, tightly wound up… it’s anything strange or confusing with their kid’s schooling! LOL! BUT, Konti has stood by us through everything. Always friendly, always quick to reply, always helpful, always supportive, always encouraging and possessing the unique ability to calm panic down with his compassion and advice. Konti, we appreciate you so much! You have the patience of Job and the calming effect of a Rainforest Creek. You are an immensely special person. We are so blessed to have had you walk this strange new road with us. You have helped immensely to remove the fear and uncertainty from this journey, and had our 6 throughout – we have NEVER felt like we’re just ‘winging it’ alone. Thank you!
